Italiano: Proseguendo nel cammino scopriamo l’altare maggiore in pietra leccese e stuccato in finto marmo policromo, realizzato nel (1876) dallo stuccatore Mastro Luigi Schiavone di Monopoli. Al centro del dossale è collocata la pala con l’immagine della Madonna degli Angeli (sec. XVII) attribuita alla bottega di Gian Domenico Catalano e ancora più in alto l’ovale di San Giuseppe col Bambinello.
Ai lati nelle rispettive nicchie, le quattro statue lignee policrome dei protettori della confraternita: sant’Andrea, protettore dei pescatori; sant’Isidoro, patrono dei contadini; san Giuseppe, protettore degli artigiani e san Giovanni Battista, protettore degli artisti. Tra le opere scultoree, situate in apposite nicchie a muro, sono custodite le statue ottocentesche di cartapesta leccese, del famoso Achille De Lucrezi, che realizzò nel 1866 “il Crocefisso” e un “Cristo morto” e poi ancora nel 1895 la “Madonna Assunta in cielo”. Un’altra statua raffigurante la “Madonna degli Angeli” fu commissionata a Napoli nel 1825. Il simulacro dell’Addolorata (manichino vestito) fu invece donato nel 1824.
