Español: Todo el mundo conoce a la mariquita de 7 puntos y muchos han oído hablar de Adalia bipunctata Hasta hace poco eran las dos únicas especies de mariquitas de puntos disponibles comercialmente, pero no son ni mucho menos las más abundantes en la Península Ibérica. Este honor le corresponde a nuestra Hippodamia variegata, a veces también tiene 7 puntos (otras veces 9), pero es muy fácil de reconocer, primero porque es más pequeña que Coccinella, y que en el torax, muy característico de esta especie, tiene un borde blanco con una linea central y dos puntos blancos a los lados. La voracidad de esta especie depredando pulgones es sorprendente. |
