Les Sternes jettent, en volant, descris aigus et perçans, surtout lorsque, par un temps calme, ils sélèventà une grande hauteur, et quils sattroupent pour faire de grandes courses.On a remarqué quils ne sont jamais si criards ni si inquiets, et quils nese donnent jamais autant de mouvement que dans le temps des nichées.Ainsi que les Hirondelles de terre, celles de mer arrivent au printemps,époque où elles fréquentent nos côtes maritimes. Au commencement demai on les y voit en grand nombre; la plupart y restent pendant lété etles autres se dispersent sur les lacs et les grands étangs ; partout elles vi-vent de petits poissons, quelles pèchent ou en volant, ou en se laissant
