Sauf que ces artistes arabes de la fin du 19ème et du début du 20ème siècle, qui ne respectaient pas les préceptes de l'Islam, ont tous été formés dans les pays colonisateurs et qu'ils apparaissent dans cette exposition plutôt comme des suiveurs. Quelques uns comme M. Moukhtar ont néanmoins trouvé leur propre voie. Les oeuvres d'art contemporain présentées dans cette exposition sont plus intéressantes et montrent qu'il existe une création vivante originale et spécifique, mais celle-ci ne trouve-t-elle pas son public dans les grandes villes européennes ou américaines ?
