Description

Pakhlavan Makhmoud (1247-1325) est le saint patron de la ville de Khiva.

Son tombeau a été construit a l'emplacement de son atelier de fourreur, le métier qu'il exerçait, puis a été inclue en 1810 dans le mausolée dynastique des Khans Kungrad. Ce bâtiment à double coupole bleue turquoise est un des symboles de Khiva.

L'intérieur de la Khanaka est décoré de majoliques bleues et blanches, réalisées par Abdoullah Djinn.

Les motifs géométriques de la coupole peuvent s'interpréter comme une représentation de l'unité de Dieu au centre vers la multiplication de sa création sur terre.

Les tombes des Khans Abdoul Gazi (1663), Anoucha (1681) et Muhammad Rakhim sont placées dans la Khanaka.
