La colonne d'Adrian Paci présentée dans le cadre du pavillon national de l'Albanie dans l'Arsenal à la Biennale d'architecture 2014 de Venise "The Column", est une installation vidéo qui a été réalisée par l'artiste albanais Adrian Paci pour son exposition de février à mai 2013 au Jeu de Paume à Paris. Elle est présentée dans le pavillon national de l'Albanie à l'occasion de la Biennale d'architecture 2014 à Venise. Au cours d'un voyage dans un bateau de transport, une équipe d'artisans sculpteurs chinois a réalisé cette colonne dans le style gréco-romain à partir d'un bloc de marbre extrait d'une carrière chinoise. La petite équipe a travaillé dans la cale d'un bateau-usine lors d'une traversée. La vidéo retrace ce travail effectué dans des conditions environnementales aussi inattendues que particulièrement rudes. La colonne sculptée a été présentée dans le jardin des Tuileries à Paris en 2013, elle est ici montrée au bord de la grande darse dans l'Arsenal de Venise. Selon Adrian Paci, "The Column" est une réflexion sur la vitesse à laquelle l’offre et la demande doivent être satisfaites dans l’économie contemporaine. C'est aussi un prétexte à un voyage poétique entre l’Orient et l’Occident au cours duquel on voit des artisans chinois capables de tout faire avec une maestria époustouflante Adrian Paci.
