Je suis natif du Finistère, A Saint-Pol j'ai reçu le jour. Mon pays est l'plus beau d'la terre, Mon clocher l'plus beau d'alentour. Aussi j' l'aimais, et j' l'admirais Chaque jours qu'Dieux me donnait j'me disais Que j'aime ma bruyère, Et mon clocher à jour.

Quand on me dit que pour la guerre, Me faudrait quitter mes amours, La métairie et mon vieux père. Et partir au son des tambours... Ah ! Dam' J'refusais. Et leur dit tout net : Nam ! J'n'entends guet, n'entend ket ! J'aime mieux ma bruyère,

Et mon clocher à jour.
