Ma la Corte Austriaca aveva da-to in Milano varii spettacoli veramentegrandiosi, di carrozze, tanto nel 1825,quando convennero a Milano vari re-gnanti dItalia attorno a Francesco I;e molto più nel settembre 1838 perla tanto ricordata incoronazione di Fer-dinando I, il quale, seguito da quasitutti i regnanti dItalia, fece il pro-prio ingresso nella capitale del RegnoLombardo Veneto sedendo in una stu-penda berlina, lavoro del XVII se-colo, dipinta da Pietro Paolo Rubens,e che ammirasi tuttora nelle imperialiscuderie dellHofburg in Vienna.
