Le niveau bas du Palais de Tokyo durant la Triennale 2012, avec au premier plan la banquette Tôkyô de Charlotte Perriand (1903-1999)
Site du palais de Tokyo www.palaisdetokyo.com/ __________________ Charlotte Perriand a créé cette banquette pour l'exposition "La synthèse des arts" qu'elle a organisée à Tokyo en avril 1955 dans le grand magasin Takashimaya. Le Corbusier et Fernand Léger ont participé à cette manifestation. Cette banquette, inspirée du dessin d'un squelette de poisson, a ensuite été commercialisée. En 1963, 40 exemplaires de la banquette Tôkyô ont été commandés par Maurice Besset pour le musée national d'art moderne qui se trouvait en ces lieux. Au cours des années, ces banquettes ont été déplacées dans d'autres musées, ont disparu ou ont été détruites. Au palais de Tokyo, il ne reste que celle photographiée et qui est inventoriée comme le montre le numéro orangé visible sur l'image. La banquette Tôkyô n'exprime rien d'autre qu'un état de pure et silencieuse contemplation (sources : document du Palais de Tokyo sur la banquette devenue objet de la collection du palais) |
