Description

Chateaubriand, exilé par Napoléon avec lequel il est en opposition, achète ce domaine boisé dans le val d'Aulnay (Chatenay-Malabry) en 1807 pour s'éloigner de Paris.

Il reçoit dans cette maison de nombreux artistes et écrivains, il y médite et travaille à ses livres . Il doit vendre la maison en 1818 en raison de sa disgrace et de la perte de son poste de Ministre d'État.

Le domaine et la demeure, classée au titre des monuments historiques, appartiennent aujourd'hui au conseil départemental des Hauts-de-Seine.
