| Description |
English: The historic Anson Building located at 1216 Adams Street in downtown La Grande, Oregon. This building is located within the La Grande Commercial Historic District, on the National Register of Historic Places.
The plaque on the building reads: Henry Anson, an early settler in La Grande, constructed this building in 1892 initially as a general store. In the early 1900's the building housed a clothing store, including a cleaning and pressing operation. The New York Store occupied the building for many years beginning in 1924. Later the Harding Family Shoe Store was located here. |
