Description

Esta foto participó en Otro lugar de Flickr

La Foz de Arbayún, a la entrada del pirenaico valle de Salazar, entre Lumbier y el Almiradío de Navascués, es la más extensa e impresionante de las gargantas navarras. El río Salazar ha ido tallando la roca dando lugar a un espectáculo sin parangón. Imponentes paredes verticales se suceden a lo largo de casi 6 kilómetros.

En el interior de la foz de Arbayún crece una diversa y peculiar vegetación que ofrece una variedad cromática estacional de indudable belleza. En sus roquedos anida una numerosa colonia de buitres leonados visibles desde el balcón voladizo del Mirador de Iso. La gran riqueza natural que convive en la Foz de Arbayún le ha valido las denominaciones de Reserva Natural y Zona de Especial Protección de las Aves.
