Summary
[edit]DescriptionLa Cura ( The Cure) by Ugo Bongarzoni - detail 1 of 3.jpg |
English: The painting was created in order to obtain an image for the book cover of a legal technical compendium by Avv. Antonio Aruta Improta entitled “ Regulations on the prevention and remediation of enviromental damage: A comparison between Directive 2004/35/EC and Legislative Decree 152/2006” published by Aracne.
The image represents a terrestrial globe (in natural counterclockwise rotation) which is partially devastated, on the continents, in the seas and in the atmosphere by fires, droughts, pollution, neglect, on the contrary the remaining regions, subjected to careful care by tiny characters , show themselves naturally healthy. Naturally the scale of size in the representation is not respected for obvious reasons, moreover the background is ivory for printing needs about the cover. In the upper left ocean the author painted two small whales that swim towards the healthy part of the planet, the largest is spraying water from the blowhole. In the same direction, a twin-mast sailing ship of ancient style, created in acrylic color in 2008 for another work, emphasizes navigation with low environmental impact. It can be seen that in the upper hemisphere there is an abundance of tall and narrow foliage plants (pines, cypresses, firs) while at the equator level, I tried to represent palms, acacias, bushes and cactus. On top of two colored trunks on which the author intended to create sequoia hair, he, instead, placed a white cloud of color prepared separately. There are at least three biological signatures (arm hair) inserted in the vegetation and one colour sign inside a cloud of smog. The technique, as in many other artworks by the author, is material and the cumulonimbus clouds follow the ideal rotation movement of the globe. The location of the two areas, even taking into account the physical rotation of the globe, indicates how the effects of the treatment guarantee a healthy future for the planet. The three anthropomorphic characters in the painting are three friends of the author, busy in their ecological work where he imagined them in everyday life: Aruta Improta himself, planting some plants, Emanuele Aloisio, cleaning nature from waste, The priest Giuseppe Cippitelli extinguishing devastating flames. The work is dedicated to his friend Paola Barile for the care and commitment used in pursuing her human ideals. The painting represents an example of "Pittoscultura" and was stolen from the author's house in the summer of 2021. |
