Objecttype: modeprent Objectnummer: RP-P-2009-4086 Opschriften / Merken: onderschrift, midden onder, gegraveerd: ‘A French Lady on Horseback in the fashionable stile of riding in the / Long Champs & Elisée at Paris. / Engraven from an original drawing taken on the spot for La Belle Assemblée or Bells Court & Fashionable Magazine for March 1807.’ Omschrijving: Franse dame, op de rug gezien, in amazonezit op een paard. Op het hoofd een hoed van fluweel. Zij draagt een modieus amazonekostuum of rijkostuum met een 'jabot toùrnant'(?). Zweep in de hand. Prent uit het modetijdschrift La Belle Assemblée, or Bell's Court and Fashionable Magazine Addressed Particularly to the Ladies (1806-1832). Volgens het onderschrift is de gravure naar een originele tekening, die ter plekke op Longchamps Elysées in Parijs voor La Belle Assemblée is gemaakt. De prent is echter een kopie naar Pl. 611, 15 janvier 1805, uit het modetijdschrift Journal des Dames et des Modes, uitgegeven door Pierre de la Mésangère, Parijs, 1797-1839.
