English: A view north from Burton Road bridge at the first railway station to be built in Lichfield. Built in 1847 by architect John Livock in a Tudor Gothic style. This station was used by passengers on the LNWR line until 1871 when Lichfield Trent Valley Station was built in its present location. This building existed as accommodation fro railway staff until it was demolished in 1971. Note Robert Stephenson's 2-2-2 passenger locomotive (on the left). |
