| Description |
English: Interior of NDM No.12048 of LPTB 1938 Stock 4-car emu built by Metro-Cammell at the London Transport Acton Depot Museum, 25 September 2021. The 1938 Stock was developed from several streamlined 1936 prototypes and were the most advanced tube trains in the world when introduced. They became the standard tube stock for the 1933-formed London Passenger Transport Passenger Board tube lines. The last were not withdrawn by London Transport until 1988, although five sets were bought by BR (as Class 483) for use on the Isle of Wight and were not withdrawn until 2021 - 85 years since the stock's introduction!
