Title
LEIC Medieval,Ewer Spout
Description
English: Copper alloy zoomorphic ewer spout of late medieval or post-medieval date. The spout has a short neck that appears to be damaged and so may have been much longer originally. This culminates in an animal's head with open mouth through which liquid would have passed. The head is dog-like with moulded drooping ears, oval eyes formed from two grooves with a row of short nicks above, a short snout, and grooves for nostrils. There is a further set of short parallel grooves running from the back of the head down the neck. It is in good condition with a fine patina. Separate zoomorphic spouts generally date to the 15th or early 16th century.

Length: 37.0mm, width: 24.0mm, thickness: 17.0mm, weight: 23.63g
