Summary
[edit]DescriptionLEGO display, Deutsche Museum, München (8194869177).jpg |
In this section of the exhaustive Deutsche Museum, building toys are showcased, and here are some examples of models built using Lego bricks. Denmark's Lego Group started its "System" of town buildings in the 1950s, and patented its distinctive plastic bricks in 1958, and the rest is history. This display shows the 1950s System boxes in front, and some elaborate models built by adult hobbyists. My own childhood involved a couple of Lego sets, from the late 1970s when the old System had just evolved into themed worlds (Castle, Town, Space) populated with minifigures. Two years after this photo, I would become an adult Lego collector myself. |
