Description

Allégorie de l'Afrique du sud comme colonie britannique.

La fontaine de Doulton située à l'entrée du People's Palace est la plus grande et la mieux conservée des fontaines en terre cuite au monde (voir le site officiel)

Elle a été érigée en l'honneur de la Reine Victoria pour son Jubilée d'or en 1887. Elle célèbre l'Empire britannique. Elle a été placée dans le "Glasgow Green" en 1890. Elle a été restaurée en 2005

Elle présente des allégories des colonies du Royaume-Uni de l'époque : l'Afrique du Sud, l'Australie, le Canada et l'Inde.
