Oil on canvas Height: 50 cm; Width: 30 cm. Private collection. This painting was on display at the Paris Salon of 1874. Pauline Laurens later made a print (etching and drypoint) after this painting.

Pauline Laurens (27 May 1850-1 January 1941) was a French painter and printmaker during the Belle Époque. She studied privately with masters such as Charles Joshua Chaplin. She specialised in portraits. She exhibited in the Salon, each year between 1873 and 1882. Most of her work belongs to private art collectors.

Pauline Laurens, née le 27 mai 1850 à Bordeaux et morte le 1er janvier 1941 à Paris, est une artiste peintre de la Belle Époque, spécialisée dans les portraits. Elle est connue également pour ses eaux-fortes. Elle expose ses œuvres au salon de Paris tous les ans entre 1873 et 1882. La plupart de ses peintures sont la propriété de collectionneurs privés.
