| Description | F639LMJ is an Alexander bodied Leyland Olympian which was new to Luton and District as fleetnumber 639 in December 1988. It passed into the Arriva Shires fleet where it became 5089 and ended up in Southend. It was sold to TGM and later onto Panther Travel, Essex where it was substantially refurbished and re-registered BIG7596. Most buses its age go for scrap with a few lucky ones surviving as lightly used preservation vehicles but this one is off on the adventure of a lifetime as it has been sold to LA Decker Hire, Los Angeles, California USA. Seen "sometime in June" at "some location" pondering swapping the mean streets of Essex for those of Hollywood, Beverley Hills and Santa Monica this bus has been repainted ready for its new life- goodbye and good luck F639LMJ! |
