Title |
LANCUM-2DC813: Roman vessel fragment |
||
Description |
English: Very worn vessel fragment, probably of Roman date (c. AD43-410). Possibly a very weathered bottom or wall sherd of a Roman Samian ware vessel. The sherd is quite thick which suggests that it was either part of the bottom or the lower half of the vessel. Surface is very worn and none of the slip remains, but the sherd's orangey/red colour and 'floury' surface suggests that this is Samian ware. |
