1969 Opel Kadett B Rallye in the paddocks of the 2014 CRAA classic race in Aarhus. Driver: Mikkel Mikkelsen (DK) Racing class: '71-Class Race number: 155 Race results in 2014 event: Training (fri.): 3 (of 39) Qualifying (sat.): 9 (of 38) Heat 1 (sat): 28, RET (of 34) Heat 2 (sun.): DNS Heat 3, final (sun.): DNS Combined: 34 (of 38) At the very back of the paddocks is a place of great sadness: the "graveyard" for crashed cars. This is where cars get taken by the wreckers to be picked up by the owners. Some are only here for a few minutes before they are taken back to the grages for the mechanics to work on. For others, there's no hurry, since the damages are too severe to repair for the remaining races. Following a crash in heat 1, Mikkel Mikkelsen and his yellow Kadett are out of the 2014 event. They have since returned with a vengeance as by far the fastest Kadett in the field the following years. Mikkelsen and his Kadett are top contenders in every race. |
