1967 Ford Anglia MkIV 105E (106E) in the paddocks of the 2014 CRAA classic race in Aarhus. Driver: John Bruun (DK) Racing class: '71-Class Race number: 105 Race results in 2014 event: Training (fri.): 24 (of 39) Qualifying (sat.): DNS Heat 1 (sat): DNS Heat 2 (sun.): DNS Heat 3, final (sun.): DNS Combined: not classified At the very back of the paddocks is a place of great sadness: the "graveyard" for crashed cars. This is where cars get taken by the wreckers to be picked up by the owners. Some are only here for a few minutes before they are taken back to the grages for the mechanics to work on. For others, there's no hurry, since the damages are too severe to repair for the remaining races. This fine Ford Anglia, driven by experienced racer John Bruun crashed in friday's free practice, and had still not been removed by the end of saturday. Car and driver had been participating in CRAA 2010, 2011 and 2013, so this was their 4th event. The car has later been repaired and is back in action (as is Bruun)... but not in Aarhus: the 2015, 2016 and 2017 events have all been skipped. |
