Description
English: Portrait of Lyman Skinner Ayres (1824–1896). He was the founder of L. S. Ayres and Company, a regional department store chain whose flagship store and headquarters were located in Indianapolis, Indiana. This portrait was painted by Theodore Clement Steele (American, 1847–1926) in 1896. Oil on Canvas, 26.5 in. x 21.5.
