Description

Chùa Phổ Minh là nơi trước đây lưu giữ vạc Phổ Minh - một trong AN NAM TỨ ĐẠI KHÍ.

An Nam Tứ đại khí là bốn công trình nghệ thuật bằng đồng nổi tiếng của văn hoá thời Lý, Trần: 1) Tượng Phật chùa Quỳnh Lâm (Đông Triều, Quảng Ninh). Tương truyền, do nhà sư Minh Không đời Lý đúc. 2) Tháp Báo Thiên dựng năm 1057 ở Thăng Long (Hà Nội), chỏm tháp bằng đồng. 3) Chuông Quy Điền (chuông ruộng rùa), đúc năm 1101 ở chùa Diên Hựu (chùa Một Cột), Thăng Long. Do quá to, đánh không kêu, mới thả vào ruộng chùa nhiều rùa nên có tên gọi trên. 4) Vạc Phổ Minh, ở chùa Phổ Minh, Thiên Trường (Nam Định), đúc vào thời Trần Nhân Tông (1279 - 93). Năm 1426, quân Minh (Ming; Trung Quốc) phá huỷ chuông Quy Điền và vạc Phổ Minh lấy đồng đúc súng. Tất cả hiện nay đều không còn.
