Description
English: A monument that obviously refers to Atatürk as involved in teaching the youg, with two texts. I understood the lines to the left are not by Atatürk, but from a poem by Mithat Cemal Kuntay (1885-1956) who wrote the poem in 1938, the fifteenth year of the Republic.

Bayrakları bayrak yapan üstündeki kandır / Toprak, eğer uğrunda ölen varsa vatandır. It might be translated as: It is the blood on them that makes the flags into flags / If you died in pursuit of land it is the motherland.

The lines to the right I found back as (texts by him are often put slightly different, partly as the language changes, and old words need new words): Okul, genç beyinlere insanlığa saygıyı, millet ve ülkeye sevgiyi, bağımsızlık onurunu öğretir. Which translates as

The school teaches young minds respect for humanity, love for the nation and country, and the honor of independence.
