La salle du poème de l'ancienne bibliothèque Jiaye est l'endroit de conservation du livre Guo Chao écrit par Liu Chenggan et par son oncle Liu Anlan L'ancienne bibliothèque Jiaye a appartenu à Liu Chenggan (1882-1963), un aristocrate lettré, collectionneur de livres anciens. La révolution de 1911, qui a mis fin à la dynastie Qing, a permis à Liu d'acquérir un grand nombre de livres anciens et de manuscrits des dynasties Song, Yuan, Ming et Qing. Parmi les ouvrages, figuraient de nombreux livrets xylographiques. Il a pu acquérir jusqu'à 600.000 ouvrages. Pour les conserver, il a fait construire, dès 1925, une bibliothèque entourée d'un jardin de lotus. La forme du bâtiment est carrée, il comprend 52 salles, chacune est consacrée à une partie de la collection et est dotée de meubles pour la lecture. Liu a du vendre une partie de la collection en raison de difficultés familiales, puis la collection a fait l'objet d'une donation à l'État, elle est aujourd'hui protégée. Nanxun est une ville, fondée au XIIIè siècle, et construite au coeur d'un réseau de canaux ce qui a facilité son développement économique à l'époque du commerce de la soie. De nombreuses maisons anciennes de commercants situées au bord des canaux ainsi que des maisons de lettrés, ont été restaurées.
