Description
Français : L'allée couverte de Tréal est bien connue et bien étudiée : comme pour les autres sites des landes de Cojoux, elle a été complètement fouillée puis restaurée en 1991-1992 par l'équipe dirigée par Jacques Briard et G. Leroux et tout son environnement a été passé au peigne fin…

Le monument est vraiment impressionnant car il est aussi complet qu'à son origine, ce qui est rare : même si l'effet de restauration n'est pas négligeable, on voit bien à quoi nos ancêtres pensaient... On a donc affaire à une allée couverte « classique » à entrée latérale : elle mesure 15,50 mètres de long et 1,20 m de large en moyenne. Plus concrètement, on compte 39 dalles : entre les tables et les orthostates ! Grâce aux résultats des fouilles effectuées en 1991-92, il a été possible de dater certains éléments retrouvés dans le périmètre du monument de -3500 avant J.-C. et donc typiquement du Chasséen, soit le Néolithique moyen.

L'allée couverte de Tréal est dite "à entrée latérale" : on peut voir ici les deux petites dalles marquant les montants, comme pour une porte, de l'entrée du sanctuaire...
English: This is a really impressive covered walkway because it is as complete as it was originally, which is rare! Even if the effect of restoration is important, we can see here clearly what our ancestors thought when they erected this monument... We are therefore dealing with a "classic" covered walkway with side entrance: it is 15,50 meters long and 1,20 m wide on average.
