Français : Portrait de Gwynplaine sur la scène de la Green-box. Cette peinture à l'huile de Georges-Antoine Rochegrosse a servi de modèle à la gravure de Fortuné Méaulle reproduite en page 1 du roman de Victor Hugo, L'Homme qui rit, dans l'Édition Hugues (1886). L'illustration correspond au texte de la deuxième partie « Par ordre du roi », livre II « Gwynplaine et Dea », chapitre I « Où l'on voit le visage de celui dont on n'a encore vu que les actions ».
