Summary

[edit]
Description
English: L'Echo d'Alger 20-11-1914 anti-al-Dschihad

The XXIX issue of the Review of the Muslim World, published late 1914 or early 1915, is entirely devoted to the publication of religious messages refusing support for Turkey and opposing both political replies (attachment to the French homeland and its "blessings" ...) and religious arguments, Koranic quotes in support.

In Algeria, the cooperation of the official Muslim "clergy" appears before the Turkish proclamation and even more after.

In his thesis, Gilbert Meynier, notes that: "from November 6 to 28, 1914, the Echo of Algiers publishes a hundred addresses" loyalists ", The Dispatch of Constantine a fortnight in two days (November 6 and 7, 1914) "(5). They come from notables, elected officials, men of mixed communes, but also muftis, cadis, imams, and chiefs of brotherhoods.
