Like most people in the city of Bawku, the woman pictured here is a motorcyclist on her way to the markets.

| Description |
English: Although unspoken, the women carry the life of this town. They are the first to wake during the early hours of dawn and ride in massive droves on motorcycles to do daily duties like shopping and business in the city. Surprisingly most people in Bawku own a motorcycle, from primary aged children to old women. It is so important that one of the marriage rites in Bawku is to provide a motorcycle for the woman.
Akan: Nnipa nim sɛ mmaa no a ɔtena kurom wei yɛ adwumaden. Da biara wɔ sore ntɛm twi moto kɔ dwam. Asɛ kuromaa nyinaa twi moto wɔ Bawku. Ɛnwanwa sɛ nkwadaa ne mmerewa wɔ. Ɛho hia sɛ barima biabɛ ware ɔbaa, ɔbɛfa moto de ba ɔbaa no fie.
