Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Western Stupa. Subashi, Xinjiang

This large stupa, sometimes called the "Western Temple," can be assumed to have once housed a significant relic. It is located in the western half of the site. Its base is made of pounded earth, with upper courses of adobe brick and composite material that were decorated with stucco reliefs. The stupa's three tiers represented the underworld, earth, and heaven.
