Description In 2005 werd een kunstwerk van de kunstenaar Jan Fabre op het Ladeuzeplein geplaatst: de Totem, een 23 meter hoge inox naald met daarop een omgekeerde kever gespiest. Het is een geschenk van de van de Katholieke Universiteit Leuven aan de stad Leuven ter gelegenheid van de 575ste verjaardag van de universiteit. Fabre gebruikt de kever vaak als metafoor: het opspelden van een kever tegen de hemel. Het insect als hemellichaam.
