Description
English: Kudara Kannon. Figure. Bodhisattva Kannon; holding water vase, with metal crown, and mandorla behind. Carved by 'ichiboku zukuri' method, almost wholly out of single block of camphor wood and hollowed at back. Replica of 7th-century statue (known as the Kudara Kannon) in the Hōryūji temple, Nara. Made of carved and painted wood, gesso, also bronze. British Museum 1932,0309.1 See also : [1] The British Museum Collection on line.
Français : Kudara Kannon (Yumedono Kannon). Bodhisattva Kannon; tenant un vase à eau, avec une couronne en métal et devant une mandorle. Sculpté selon la méthode 'ichiboku zukuri', presque entièrement en bois de camphre et creusé à l'arrière. Réplique (réalisée vers 1932) d'une statue du 7ème siècle (connue sous le nom de Kudara Kannon) dans le temple Hōryū-ji, Nara. En bois sculpté et peint, gesso, et bronze.
