Description

Deze Russische bark is met zijn 114 meter – op de Sedov na – het grootste nog varende zeilschip ter wereld. De Kruzenshtern werd in 1926 gebouwd in opdracht van de vermaarde scheepsbouwer F. Laeisz uit Hamburg. De Kruzenshtern heette tot 1946 Padua. In 1946 werd de Padua in Sinnemünde overgedragen aan de Russen, waar zij vernoemd werd naar de Russische navigator en oceanograaf Adam Johann Ritter von Kruzenshtern. Thuishaven is St. Petersburg, waar ook Von Kruzenshtern destijds leefde.

In tegengestelde richting vaart de draagvleugelboot Karla.
