| Description |
Nederlands: In 1317 vond een landbouwer in Eksaarde (Lokeren) twee miraculeuze kruisen. De plaats groeide uit tot een bedevaartsoord, en rond 1630 liet de heer van Eksaarde er een kapel oprichten. De bakstenen waterput voor de kapel, de zogenaamde Kruisput, zou de plaats zijn waar de kruisen werden gevonden. Tussen de kapel en de parochiekerk van Eksaarde loopt een kruisweg met veertien staties. In 1995 werd de Kruiskapel beschermd als monument, en samen met zijn omgeving, met de waterput, het statiekruis, de Kruiskapeldreef en de ommegangkapelletjes, als dorpsgezicht.
