| Description |
Deutsch: Während des Dreißigjährigen Krieges gelang es den auf schwedischer Seite kämpfenden Truppen des Herzogs Bernhard von Sachsen-Weimar bei einem Angriff am 21. März 1634 eine Bresche in die Stadtmauer der oberfränkischen Stadt Kronach zu schlagen. Aufgrund der entschiedenen Gegenwehr ihrer Bewohner führte dies jedoch nicht zur Einnahme der Stadt. Das Ausmaß der damaligen Zerstörung ist heute noch anhand der abweichenden rötlichen Färbung des Sandsteins erkennbar, der zum Schließen der Lücke verwendet wurde. |
