English: The world's tallest statue of Lord Krishna is in Nawalparasi.
The idol of Lord Krishna in Krishnadham is located in Ward No. 4 of Ramwapur, Sunwal Municipality, Navalparasi District. Krishnadham is located on the right side near the east-west highway from Kathmandu to Butwal, a distance of about 242 km. There is an amazing idol of Lord Krishna in this Krishnadham. When Lord Krishna was 2.5 years old, he was very shy and caused a lot of pain to the cowherds. No matter how much the cowherds tried to tie Lord Krishna with a rope, they were unable to do so as Damodar became fatter. Mother tied Lord Krishna with a rope. The special feature of this idol is that Lord Krishna is tied with a rope. While other idols of Lord Krishna are seen holding a flute, in this idol, Lord Krishna does not have a flute in his hand. At that time, Lord Krishna was still a child, and he did not play the flute. Spread over an area of about 2 bighas, Krishnadham is very attractive. This Dham is decorated with parks and gardens, and there are also temples and statues of other gods and goddesses. This Dham has facilities for performing various functions, including marriage, marriage ceremonies, and religious work. To the west of this Dham, there is also the Damodar Kund of the Puranic period. This statue is 71 feet high. A 17-member committee has also been formed under the chairmanship of Yama Prasad Dhakal for the management of the Krishna Dham Development Committee. According to President Dhakal, the construction of this Dham was started in 2073 and completed in 2076. 10.4 million was spent to make only the standing idol of Lord Krishna. The amount was made with the help of local residents and the Sunwal municipality. According to President Dhakal, this statue of Lord Krishna in Damodar form is said to be the tallest statue in the world. |
