Summary

[edit]
Description
November 2011".
English: Area of the former manor Krötenhof. It is probably the oldest manor in the south of Hof. It was already mentioned in 1499 in the Urbar of the Klara monastery ("16 acker felds peym Krötenhof, ist der meist tail mit Holz bewagßen, 5 tagwerk wisen im Brentel, 1 tagwerk huwaid darpey."). The Kammergut at the Krötenhof (hence the street name Kammergutweg) is said to have been severely damaged in the Thirty Years' War. Only old oak, beech and maple trees remain from the estate. The manor with Kammergut formed the hamlet "Höfles". In the 1950s, there is said to have been a building near the toad yard, the "Jean-Paul-Laube", where the eponymous poet also stayed.
