Description
Español: Estatuilla de un kouros de yeso pintado, versión en miniatura del kouros, un prototipo de la escultura griega arcaica, del siglo VI a. C. El cuerpo es una abstracción anatómica de un joven de excelencia física y moral (areté): cabello largo aristocrático, hombros anchos, cintura estrecha, muslos fuertes y labios con una perenne sonrisa de satisfacción. Conserva restos de pintura en el pelo y en el rostro. Las esculturas de la época arcaica solían pintarse y había figuras masculinas como ésta que en ocasiones llevaban un bigote pintado. Esta estatuilla, probablemente manufactura chipriota, procede de Naucratis, Egipto. Hacia 560 a. C. Medidas: 257 mm x 88 mm x 44 mm. GR 1888, 1006.1 (sculpture B438).
