Description
English: Kotahi Devi Temple, Kotahi, Gularia

The temple of the famous Kotahi Devi is located in Ward No. 4 of Gularia Municipality of Bardia District. At this place, earlier, there was only an inscription at the foot of the pipal. Devotees used to worship that inscription as Kotahi Devi. In the year 2044, an idol of Kotahi Devi was made in Kathmandu and installed here according to religious rituals. This idol of Kotahi Devi is made of black stone and has a very attractive and artistic style. As the temple complex is very wide, there are also other small temples of various gods in this area, including marriage pavilions and houses where the priests live. In this Kotahi temple, a special puja is performed on Navratri, the great Hindu festival of Bijay Dashami, and there is a huge crowd of devotees. Also, there is special worship on Ashtami and Navami for Chaite Dasha. At this time, the devotees of the Madhesi community take coconuts and offer them to this goddess. Even on this day, there is a huge crowd of devotees here.

In this temple, there is also the practice of giving cattle.
