Description
English: The so-called Kossuth Coach in Paraćin, Serbia. A coach that Terézia Meszlényi, Lajos Kossuth's wife used when she travelled incognito from Belgrade towards the Ottoman Empire in January 1850 after the Hungarian War of Independence. Later tradition claimed erroneously that it was used by Kossuth himself. The relic was photographed in Paraćin by Captain Károly Scherer during the First World War in 1916. The coach was later transferred to Hungary but it was dismantled around 1945. The remains are in the storage of the Hungarian Museum of Transport.
Magyar: A Kossuth hintónak nevezett történelmi ereklye a szerbiai Paraćinban. A hintóval Kossuth Lajos felesége, Meszlényi Terézia utazott inkognitóban, amikor 1850 januárjában Belgrádból az Oszmán Birodalom felé tartott. A későbbi hagyomány tévesen úgy tartotta, hogy maga Kossuth menekült vele. A hintót Scherer Károly százados fényképezte le 1916-ban Paraćinban. A kocsi később Magyarországra került, de 1945 körül szétbontották, alvázát a Magyar Műszaki és Közlekedési Múzeum őrzi.
