Summary
[edit]DescriptionKorail Bidulgwi-class Passenger Car - Flickr - skinnylawyer.jpg |
This passenger car was the first model manufactured within South Korea. First introduced in 1959, it served mainline services, and upon introduction of more modern cars, was relegated to basic commuter-level services, known in Korail nomenclature as Bidulgwi (Dove). Car 12061 was the first one produced at Korail's Incheon workshop when it opened in 1962. Weighing 36 metric tons, it carried 118 passengers in fixed seats, meaning that half the passengers would have had to face rearward, common in Europe but undesirable and now rarely seen in South Korea. Design top speed was 110 km/h. |
