Description

Der Rheintor-Turm, erbaut im 13. Jh. und bis zum 15. Jh. immer wieder ausgebaut, steht direkt am Rhein und ist an und für sich kein Turm sondern war das nördliche Stadttor Konstanz'. Im Mittelalter lief eine hölzerne Rheinbrücke direkt auf das Stadttor zu und der Weg führte dann weiter quer durch die Stadt zum südlichen Stadttor, dem Schnetztor.

Heute dient er der Gemeinschaft der Konstanzer Fanfarenzüge als Stammquartier. Vor einiger Zeit wurde der Rheintor-Turm durch eben diese Gemeinschaft und der Initiative Rheintor-Turm aufwendig restauriert.
