Description
English: Koneswaram Temple is a Hindu temple located atop Swami Rock inside Fort Fredrick in Trincomalee, Sri Lanka, at a distance of 3 kilometers from Trincomalee Railway Station. It is one of the most popular places of pilgrimage in Sri Lanka and one of the top locations to visit in Trincomalee as part of Sri Lanka, with a lovely view of Gokarna Bay. Lord Shiva is honored at Koneswaram Temple, also known as Thirukonamalai Temple. The temple, which is surrounded by breathtaking scenery, is thought to be one of Sri Lanka's Panch Ishwarams (five Shiva abodes), along with Ketheeshwaram, Munneshwaram, Naguleshwaram, and the now-destroyed Tenavaram. The site is a Hindu sacred destination and is also known as the Kailasa of the South because of its location.
हिन्दी: कोनेश्वरम मंदिर त्रिंकोमाली रेलवे स्टेशन से 3 किलोमीटर की दूरी पर त्रिंकोमाली, श्रीलंका में फोर्ट फ्रेड्रिक के अंदर स्वामी रॉक के ऊपर स्थित एक हिंदू मंदिर है। यह श्रीलंका में सबसे लोकप्रिय तीर्थ स्थानों में से एक है और गोकर्ण खाड़ी के सुंदर दृश्य के साथ श्रीलंका के हिस्से के रूप में त्रिंकोमाली में घूमने के लिए शीर्ष स्थानों में से एक है। कोनेश्वरम मंदिर में भगवान शिव का सम्मान किया जाता है, जिसे थिरुकोनामलाई मंदिर भी कहा जाता है। लुभावने दृश्यों से घिरे मंदिर को श्रीलंका के पंच ईश्वरम (पांच शिव निवास) में से एक माना जाता है, साथ ही केथेश्वरम, मुन्नेश्वरम, नागुलेश्वरम और अब नष्ट हो चुके तेनावरम। यह स्थल एक हिंदू पवित्र स्थल है और इसके स्थान के कारण इसे दक्षिण के कैलाश के रूप में भी जाना जाता है।
