- Photographic closeup of the skin of a Komodo dragon. The skin is mottled black and orange, and covered in small bumps, or raised short ridges. The bumps are in a lattice-work pattern, each occupying a faintly discernible rhombus of hide, demarcated by shallow furrows or creases.
