English: In 1901, Kolinzuten was a 9-year-old child of the Flathead people, and a student at the convent of the Ursulines in Helena, Montana. She was taken to Vatican City, where she was introduced to Pope Leo XIII.
"Kolinzuten", according to the Red River Prospector, meant "child of God" in "the court language of the Flathead Indians". |
