Description
Nederlands: Beschrijving Gedenkstuk voor de Nederlandsche Gereformeerde Gemeentens

Zinneprent op de Nederlands Hervormde Kerk. De voorstelling behelst een classicistisch monument, bestaande uit basement met daarop vier (half)zuilen en een hoofdgestel, het geheel bekroond door een portret van Calvijn, omgeven door engeltjes met christelijke attributen en links en rechts boven tondo's met voorstellingen van de Doop en het Huwelijk. Het middendeel van het monument zelf wordt ingenomen door een voorstelling van de Synode van Dordrecht (1618-1619) met bovenin een afbeelding van het Nachtmaal (= heilig Avondmaal). In het linker vak is boven een voorstelling van de "Noord-Hollandsche Synode, zo als het word gehouden te Amsterdam, in het Choor der Nieuwe Kerk", daaronder van de "Naziening der Handelingen van 't Nationaal Synode in de Treveskamer in 's Hage.". In het rechter vak boven een afbeelding van de "Openbaare voorlezingen der Nieuwberymde Psalmen op het huis van Prins Maurits in 's Gravenhage in den Jaare 1773." en onder van de "Maaltijd op den Burg te Leijden, aan de Gedeputeerden der Classicale Vergadering.". Op het basement nog teksten m.b.t. aantallen predikanten, kerken, academies en hoogleraren. Techniek: gravure.
