Description
Deutsch: Ausstreichendes Kohleflöz „Mentor“ (auch „Geitling 3“ genannt) im auflässigen Steinbruch „am Kleff“ an der Herbeder Straße in Witten-Heven, Ruhrgebiet. Das Flöz liegt innerhalb der Witten-Formation (Oberkarbon, Westfal A). Die Schichten im Liegenden des Flözes bestehen überwiegend aus siltigen Tonsteinen und werden als „Sandstreifige Tonschiefer“ bezeichnet, die teils deutlich aus der Wand herauswitternden Schichten im Hangenden des Flözes bestehen aus Sandstein und werden als Finefrau-Sandstein bezeichnet.
Deutsch: Exposed coal seam “Mentor” (also called “Geitling 3”) in the abandoned quarry “am Kleff” at the Herbeder Straße in the town district of Witten-Heven, Ruhr area, Germany. The seam lies within the Witten Formation (Upper Carboniferous, Westfalian A). The beds below the seam are predominantly mudstones and are referred to as “Sandstreifige Tonschiefer” (“sand-banded shales”), the beds above the seam are sandstones and are referred to as Finefrau Sandstone.
